ABOUT US
Doggy Problems originated out of a need to educate an unruly German Shepherd and developed into a new way of thinking of how dogs' best responded to human commands.
Founder Pam Flynn joined the ranks of the Geelong Branch of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Victoria (GSDCV) in 1991 to assist in the schooling of her recently acquired puppy.
After showing obvious signs of ability with her own animal, Pam was earmarked as a potential instructor and undertook a nine month training and education course with the GSDVC. This tuition saw Pam extend her knowledge of training practices and cumulated in her advancing to the position of Chief Instructor over a relatively short period of time.
Additional instruction in the traditional Schutzhound (German for "protection dog") training regime had Pam evaluating the future of dog training and in particular the traditional methods that had seen her gain recognition within the GSDCV.
Through her connection with the GSDCV Pam was fortunate to meet with renowned animal actor trainer Luke Hura, with whom she forged a strong bond. Impressed by his motivational training methods Pam worked closely with Luke in order to fully understand the change in direction that she believed dog training needed to take.
To this day, Pam maintains a close relationship with Luke whom she looks upon as both friend and mentor.
Hungry for further knowledge Pam began to read the works of English “Dog Listener” Jan Fennell and came to the realisation that many of the thoughts that she had herself were highlighted in the training methods adopted by Fennell.
In October 2006 Jan Fennell visited Australia and Pam was fortunate enough to not only be admitted to her two day training course, but to spend a good deal of time with Jan discussing her own thoughts and beliefs relating to motivational training methods.

Pam continues to study the behavioural pattern of dogs and their original decedents the wolves, which has allowed her to gain a better understanding of how and why dogs behave the way they do.
In recent times we have all become more adapt to reading the body language of other people while Pam Flynn has honed her ability to read the movements of man's best friend - the dog.
